Robertsdale Museum
The Robertsdale Museum is currently closed. It will reopen Nov 30th – Dec 21. See the full list of dates below.
Please note that Robertsdale is NOT the location to ride East Broad Top Railroad trains. They depart from Rockhill, PA.
The Friends of the East Broad Top Museum presents the history of the East Broad Top Railroad & Coal Company, the industries it served in the surrounding area and the culture of the railroad, its employees and customers. The museum’s current exhibits are located in the historic Rockhill Iron and Coal Company Post Office and also includes the East Broad Top Railroad Station.
For 2024 the museum will be open Saturdays May through October from 10 AM to 5 PM. The museum will also be open to coincide with the East Broad Top Railroad’s Easter on the Rails event in April and Christmas in Coal Country in December. Those events take place in Rockhill, PA. See the full schedule below.
Admission to the FEBT Robertsdale Museum is FREE, but donations to our Restoration Fund are happily accepted and help our continued efforts to fully restore the East Broad Top Railroad.
Activities
The Henry F. (Hank) Inman Memorial Exhibit Hall includes numerous displays detailing the East Broad Top Railroad, dioramas, and artifacts. Interactive exhibits and audio commentary help convey the story.
Railbike tours of the historic mine district are available on over a mile of restored East Broad Top mainline narrow gauge track.
Walking tours of the EBT yard and mine area are offered at 11 AM, 1 PM, and 3 PM each day the museum is open. Good walking shoes for uneven terrain are recommended for the tour.
Outside the museum, three original East Broad Top Railroad Hoppers are under restoration as a full size exhibit on the railroads operations.
The museum includes a gift shop with a variety of EBT, railroad and coal mining items. Credit cards are accepted.
During select Archives Days at the museum, select items from the East Broad Top Archives and Special Collections will be on display and you can talk with Archivist Julie Rockwell.
On days marked Library Open, items in the FEBT Library will be available upon request. Visit the FEBT Library Page for more information.
