The Friends of the East Broad Top Next Gen Easties Volunteer Program is the next step after the Young Easties Program to reach younger individuals for involvement with preservation and restoration of the East Broad Top railroad. The Next Gen Easties is for members 18 to 35 with a focus on college students and recent grads.

One of the first projects for this group is working on rehabbing the Blacksmith Shop.

With several members already digging into the restoration and gathering a list of tasks, this Next Generation will lead the charge to get the blacksmith shop back to its 1950s appearance and restoring several pieces of the machinery. They will also assist on FEBT’s other projects to gain hands-on experience across several areas of rail preservation.
