Projects we will be working on:
COMBINE 14
Siding needs prepped and painted, and baggage doors need some repairs. Tools to bring: tape measure, pencil, hearing protection, eye protection. Up to 6 volunteers can work on the Combine.
SIDING REPAIRS CAR SHOP
Continue rebuilding the Car shop south doors and continue with siding repairs. Bring with you cordless tools, tape measure, marking device, carpenter square, gloves, hard hat if you have one. There are extra hard hats in the Paint Shop. Up to 4 people can work on the Car shop.
STORE HOUSE
The shelves and bins are ready for the return of the hardware that is in storage. Up to 6 volunteers.
WINDOWS
Help repair and paint old window sash and install new sash. Bring gloves and eye protection. Up to 6 volunteers.
BUILDINGS PAINT PREP
Scrape and wire brush the loose paint off of the shops buildings so they can be painted. Bring eye protection and gloves. Up to 4 volunteers.
PAINT BUILDINGS
Once they are prepped, they will need a coat of paint. Bring old clothes, paint and brushes provided. Up to 4 volunteers.
BOXCAR
Help cut out rusted steel and fit new steel to return #174 to service. Bring with you eye protection, gloves, hearing protection. Two volunteers needed.
TRACK WORK
Build a bridge and continue clearing track in Robertsdale. Track work will be Saturday only. Be at Robertsdale at 9AM. Bring hard hat, gloves, hearing protection, and eye protection. Up to 12 volunteers.
LOCO 16
The cab windows need some repairs and there are some parts of the loco that are ready for paint. Bring with you old clothes, gloves, eye protection, respirator if you have one ( extras in the Paint shop). Four volunteers needed.
Details
You must be 18 and a member of the FEBT ( or join at the work site.) These are insurance requirements. We are guests of the railroad and need to behave accordingly.
