FEBT May Rockhill Restoration Work Week – Announcement and Signup

The FEBT May Rockhill Restoration Work Week is coming up May 23-27. Work hours will be from 9 am to 5 pm, and 9 am to 4 pm Friday.

WEATHER

MEALS

To reserve a seat for breakfast, for a donation, served at 8am at the Iron Rail B&B contact David at trolley@innernet.net before Thursday May 19th. Seats must be reserved ahead of time. Other local restaurants are available for breakfast, lunch and dinner. This year lunch fixings and drinks will be available at the Trolley Museum Pavilion each day for a donation. Please signup each day you would like lunch at RTM. Wednesday night there will be a cookout at the Trolley Museum Pavilion, free for volunteers, from 6PM to 7PM. Hamburgers, hotdogs, brats, and fixings. Followed by a webinar from 7PM to 8PM presented by Preservation Pennsylvania about the EBT. Please signup if you wish to attend Wednesday night. Thursday night dinner, a la carte, will be a get together at Woodies BBQ in Huntingdon at 6:30. Please signup if you wish to attend Thursday night.

The Bricktown Model Railroaders Assoc. will be open for visitors Tuesday evening from 6PM to 8PM at 300 W. Small St., Mount Union, PA.

Projects we will be working on:

COMBINE 14

Flooring, trim, and windows can be installed, and baggage doors need some repairs, and painting
Tools to bring: tape measure, pencil, hearing protection, eye protection. Up to 6 volunteers can work on the Combine.

SHOP SIDING REPAIRS

Some of the shop buildings need siding and batten repairs done before the buildings can be painted Bring with you hammer, cordless tools, tape measure, marking device, carpenter square, gloves, hard hat if you have one. There are extra hard hats in the Paint Shop. Up to 6 people can work on the

STORE HOUSE

The shelves and bins can be moved back and made ready for the return of the hardware that is in storage. Up to 6 volunteers.

WINDOWS

Help repair and paint old window sash and install new sash. Bring gloves and eye protection. Up to 6 volunteers.

BOXCAR

On Thursday and Friday, repairs to rusted out areas of the boxcar will continue. Bring gloves, eye protection, ear protection with you. Two may sign up.

BUILDINGS PAINT PREP

Scrape and wire brush the loose paint off of the shops buildings so they can be painted during the May work week. Bring eye protection and gloves. Up to 6 volunteers.

BUILDINGS PAINT

Help turn the shop buildings from weather beaten to box car red. Windows and trim can also be painted white. Bring old clothes to wear. Up to 4 may sign up.

TRACK WORK

There will be no track work during the FEBT Work Week.

You must be 18 and a member of the FEBT ( or join at the work site.) These are insurance requirements. We are guests of the railroad and need to behave accordingly.
